FIRE

Our fire crew’s core function is fire suppression, rescue, safety, EMS support, and community protection, often stepping in as the first and sometimes only line of defense until more resources arrive.

1. Fire Suppression

  • Responding to structure, vehicle, and wildland fires.
  • Containing, extinguishing, and preventing rekindles.
  • Protecting nearby exposures (homes, barns, fields).

2. Rescue Operations

  • Vehicle extrication after accidents.
  • Search and rescue in structures, fields, and remote areas.
  • Assisting in water or ice rescues if needed.

3. Firefighter & Scene Safety

  • Ensuring crew safety during operations through accountability, rehab, and protective equipment.
  • Securing incident scenes to protect both responders and the public.

4. Support to EMS

  • Assisting EMS with patient lifting, extrication, and manpower.
  • Providing fire suppression or hazard control during medical emergencies (like car crashes).

5. Community Protection & Education

  • Conducting fire prevention programs in schools and the community.
  • Promoting smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and evacuation planning.
  • Standing by at community events to ensure safety.

6. Mutual Aid & Rural Response

  • Supporting neighboring towns and counties when additional manpower is needed.
  • Working closely with law enforcement, EMS, and forestry services.
